I'm updating because I was ordered to by Jena. So, I really don't have anything to say other than I think this worship thing is a door to my future. I've heard of so many singers, including Phil Wickham, who started out leading worship in their high school group. I'm not like wanting to be famous, but of course I want to be good. So, yeah, and also I used to be scared of singing in front of people, but now I'm fine. It's great!

Halle Rae

Well...my little sister is the cutest baby I have ever seen in my entire life! Not to brag or anything......lol! Here are some pictures of her first week of life. Fortunately, she doesn't cry very loud and she's been only getting up twice throughout the night (that's very good for a newborn). I really don't know what to say, but here she is and you can schedule an appointment to come over, just ask me or my mom. Ok....see ya later!

P.S. I have more pictures but because she doesn't have any clothes on I didn't want to put them on the internet.

Halle Rae

Halle Rae Overton was born on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 2:07 pm weighing 7lbs. 2oz. and 18 3/4in long. She has blondish brown hair and she is absolutely beautiful. The story is that my mom was "leaking" on Sunday at the Christmas concert so we called the doctor on-call and he said it was nothing. So we went to bed and the next morning she was still wet so we went to the hospital. She wasn't having contractions or anything, but they took her into the room where they checked to see if she really was going into labor and it turned out she was. We got settled in the room at about 7:30 am. She started having bad contractions at like 10 ish she was dialated to 2cm (if you don't know what that is don't ask me) (lol...Halle's crying right now). Paige was getting a little scared so we got lunch and waited a while. We came back about 1:00 and it was worse. So we left and we were just downstairs in the lobby when my dad came running. We ran upstairs and when we walked in the room, Halle was already getting cleaned off. We missed the whole thing! It was so good how it happened cause Paige was not excited about seeing mom scream. And another good thing was that 2 years ago on Monday my dad's dad died and then my sister was born on the same day. My mom's sister's birthday is on the 4th and when my grandpa died, she felt bad like her birthday was a bad day or whatever. Now she is really encouraged. So...yeah. Just wanted to keep you updated. Ok...see you guys later!

Christmas spirit

Well...we are decorating our tree today. Well, Paige and my dad are decorating our fake plastic, non-pine smelling stick of a tree and I'm trying to ignore them as they go through what seems like every ornament and talk about each one. But, on a more positive note, we are trying to get in the Christmas spirit. For example, we made hot chocolate, a fire (which isn't real wood anyway), and we're listening to Scott Reinemeyer's Christmas CD from last year. We're trying. Ok gotta go...bye

i don't know what to write. How about...i like the song "sound of melodies" by leeland. Alisa played it today and I love it...not as much as Phil Wickham though. The song has this certain feel to it and I love it. Ok this is boring and I don't know what to talk about.

My Friday night

This is my sister, Halle about 2 months ago. Sorry about the picture...it's kind of scary.

Well...I have come to the conclusion that my dad is really cool. As you already know, I was feeling sick when my dad picked me up from Mallori's and I was hoping to take some medicine and then be all better. He surprized me by taking me out ot a really nice restaurant (for our family) and then to a movie. It's not just because he spent money on me that I'm happy, it's that he wanted to spend time with me because earlier had to leave me home alone and bored for a couple of hours. I can stay home by myself, but if I do I get so bored that I eat everything in the house. I love my dad and I thought I would share the love with you guys. So at the restaurant, there was an hour wait and we were both starving so we thought we would just leave when out of nowhere, a couple that my dad barely knows and I just met offered their table for us to share with them at. (Sorry about the bad sentence structure) So we didn't have to wait an hour to get seated, we just acted like we were with them. I got to know them and they are super nice and I made a new friend. Well...that was my Friday night. Ok see you later!

Well....I realize I haven't posted anything here for a while. I'm really bummed because I am all congested and stuffy and I really don't feel well. :( But I am really into drinking hot tea and I think I'm hooked. I don't usually like tea, but I guess I do now. I spent the night at Mallori's house last night and that was fun. My mom is at a Tupperware convention and my dad had to work today and my sister's at a leadership retreat thing. So I'm here doing nothing except for telling everybody who is reading this about my really boring couple of days. I have a funny story...but most likely it will be completely not funny to anybody but me and Mallori's family. Anyways...we were at Wendy's and I saw my English teacher. I really don't like to talk to people when I see them places...especially teachers. So I try to just prentend she's not there by just walking right past her to try to get out of the door as fast as I possibly could. Well.......she caught me and asked me why I was trying to ignore her. I was so shocked and I tried to play dumb by saying.."Oh! Hi! How are you?" Well...Mallori's mom told me my face was a dead giveaway that I was totally trying not have to talk to her. Then, I endured 20 minutes of mockery and laughter from the lovely Martinez family (including Mallori's 11 year old sister who now thinks I am the biggest loser in the world). On Monday, I have some explaining to do. Thankfully she is a cool teacher. So....that was my day, other than being congested. Well...see you all on Sunday at church.

P.S. I don't think I have ever sneezed so much in my life. This picture describes me today.

Habakkuk

Well... I read Habakkuk because Pastor Dave talked about how to see Jesus in every book of the old testament. It was really cool and I encourage you guys to read it. I thought it was cool because it talked about Habakkuk's complaint to God and then God's reply. Then Habakkuk complains again and then God replies again and helps Habakkuk. (Habakkuk is really fun to type) I complain a lot so I thought it was cool to see how God dealt with it. Then Habakkuk writes this really long prayer that was suposed to be set to music which would of been cool to hear. There was also some prophecy and if anybody knows which book there is more prophecy in, please let me know. I am interested in learning about prophecy.

I also read Ruth and I am pretty sure someone needs to make it into a movie. It was really good and I am probably going to read it again...right now! Ok bye -Danica

P.S. Does anybody know the name of the song that we sang last night at Encounter, I think it was "Wash Over Me" or "Watch Over Me" I don't know, but I really want to learn it. Please let me know if you know.

All Youth Worship Night

Well...tonight we had an All Youth Worship night and it turned out pretty good. There wasn't very many people there, but I had fun. Ok...so the sound systems STINKS and you can't ever hear youself and it's super confusing...but it all turned out well. So..yeah! I really liked the alter call thing. It was really cool to see this one girl I have been in classes with but never talked to stand up and have people pray with her. Now that I think about it, why didn't I invite her to church in 7th grade when I met her.? Why has it taken this long for someone to get her at church? I'm so glad that Mary Jane brought her, but I am kind of disappointed at myself for not talking to her earlier. I use the excuse that all my friends are Christians, but the people I sit next to that are just acquaintances need to be talked to also. I'm not beating myself up for it, but I am reminding myself and maybe anybody else reading this that we all need to talk to our "acquaintances" about Jesus. And thank you Jena for being there tonight and setting a good example for me and everybody else. OH!!! and I read Ruth...it's super good and I really think someone should make a movie out of it. It's really good!!! You should read it. Ok...now I have to go to bed. Good night! -Danica

Hey!!!

Hey everybody,
I don't have a lot of time cause I have to study for a giant AP History test. I hate history! Well, this is still kind of akward, but hopefully I will get better at it. Thank you Alyssa and Jena for being the first people to comment. I'm so excited about this whole blog thing!!! Well...today I was long jumping in P.E. and I totally fell in front of everybody and it was super embarrassing (probably spelled wrong) cause nobody laughed, they just kind of stared. It would be better if someone laughed so I could laugh too. It was just super akward. Ok...gotta go. See ya!

How do I do stuff?

Ok so how do I put a picture on it cause I tried and it told me I couldn't do it. So I don't know. Can anyone help me???

My dad said I could have a blog!!!

(left: a really cool, really expensive guitar called "The Rockingbird 400"; top: Phil Wickham the guy I am going to marry; bottom: me picking weeds in the rain in Oklahoma...notice Brandy seeking shelter on the left)

Well...that was a funny picture. We are in Albequerque, New Mexico playing for a homeless shelter.

I am so exited that my dad let me have a blog. Well...this is fun! Ok do I talk about me? I'm confused...well I guess I will anyway. I'm Danica and I like to play the guitar and listen to music. Music is my passion and I hope to have a career in youth worship soon. I go school and and am managing to make straight A's which is amazing because before last year, the last time I got straight A's was in 4th grade. Well...I go to Northside and I am a leader in the youth group and the worship band. I love Jesus and I enjoy going to girl's Bible study. Ok well I'll talk more soon.....ok bye!
